Fans Seriously Line Up for Glam Nation

June 27th, 2010 by Admin

It’s summer in New York City, one of the dirtiest and most crowded places in the world. That wasn’t enough to stop droves of Adam Lambert fans from flocking to the Nokia Theater in Times Square – many of them a full 24 hours early for the show – to attend the NYC leg of his Glam Nation Tour.

Anyone and Everyone

The theater sold out all its tickets for Lambert’s performances, and some more rabid fans took added measures to get good spots at the general admission concert. A good number could be spotted practically camping outside the theater, out there with the typical dirt and grime of a Times Square sidewalk. The line got to the point that it almost snaked all the way to West 45th Street.

Audience members came from a very wide range of backgrounds, and wasn’t the gaggle of American females as one might expect. Danes, Brits, Japanese, Singaporeans and Venezuelans were all attendance to add even more variety to an audience that already came from all over the United States. There was also a good number of dudes in the audience – even in the number camping outside the venue.
Glam Nation Takes the Nation

For someone who’s on a completely different side of the country, the California native is doing extremely well. The Glam Nation Tour, which also features young talents Orianthi and Allison Iraheta, has had a string of sold out concert dates on top of the bestselling ones in NYC.

Lambert and company will continue touring on the East Coast after their stint in the Big Apple. Connecticut and New Jersey are next on the touring route, and are expected to draw big crowds as well. Whether or not audiences there are willing camp outside an entire day for the concert remains to be seen. Seo India

Music In The Recent Past: 20th Century Saga

June 15th, 2010 by Admin

Till the last part of the 19th century, listening to music was a head on affair. Singers and musicians performed in presence of audiences either at home or in social gatherings and in theaters. Discovery of radio made it possible for the first time listening to music without being in close proximity to the performers and subsequent discovery of phonographs added to the facilities. Replaying and distributing music on the air was now easier for the providers and listening to them easy for the audience even in the far and remote corners of the globe.

MusicIt was the time when art music in its present sense made its appearance on the scene. Focus of the art music was on exploration of new rhythms, styles, and sound. Many great composers like Igor Stravinsky, John Cage and Arnold Schoenberg enriched the musical world at this time making significant contributions to art music during the 20th century.

20th century also experienced the evolution of heartthrob music of many; the Jazz. While Jazz dominated the first half of the century, Rock dominated the second half of it. Originating from the African American communities in the Southern American regions, Jazz evolved from a confluence of the African and European musical patterns. West African pedigree styles are very much prominent in the blue notes, polyrhythms, improvisation, swung notes, and syncopation in the Jazz music. Jazz also incorporated the popular American music of both 19th and 20th centuries.

One of the most notable developments in the 20th century musical arena was the ultimate fusion of jazz and rock in the 1980s. Rock was developed during the 1960s and it evolved from the rock and roll, blues, country music, and rockabilly music that evolved during the 1950s. Usually the Electric or acoustic guitars are used to produce rock music. It uses strong back beats with rhythm section using bass guitar and drums or keyboard instruments such as the organ and piano.

Latest technology used was the analog synthesizer of 1970s and digital synthesizer of 1990s that added glamour and décor to rock music. Seo India
